Pisay Caraga was hailed First Runner Up after garnering a total of 51 wins in the recently concluded Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held at Libertad National High School in Butuan City on October 16 - 18, 2019.

 The contestant student-journalists of PSHS - CRC emerged victorious in their respective categories from a total of  36 participating high schools in Butuan City Division of the Department of Education, who enlisted their active participation in the advocacy of optimizing the power of communication.

 Pisayanos competed for individual and group awards on various forms of journalistic writing and broadcast reporting. With this year’s theme, “Empowering Communities through Campus Journalism”, Pisay Caraga bagged the following top-tier awards:

The winners will advance to the regional-level competition slated this November with the hopes of maintaining the winning streak of PSHS - CRC in the field of campus journalism.

The annual conference is pursuant to Republic Act (RA) 7079 or the Campus Journalism Act of 1991, which is principled with the policy of the state to uphold and protect the freedom of the press at the campus level and to promote the development and growth of campus journalism as a means of strengthening ethical values, encouraging critical and creative thinking, and developing moral character and personal discipline of the youth.
